Due to some technical difficulties we decided to run it back with one of our favourite early episodes.
The Wine & Dime crew is back and this time they're drinking South African wine. After some discussion about Pinotage, Chris and Lyndsay name their starting fives if wines were basketball players before bemoaning the lack of creative player nicknames/ doing a draft of the ones that are actually good.
Wine Pairing: The Grinder Pinotage 2021 (Western Cape, South Africa)

They finish off with a quick vibe check of the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies.

Tuesday Dec 17, 2024

It's the first holiday season for Wine & Dime so Chris and Lyndsay wanted to do something special. Chris and Lyndsay kick things off by asking basketball Santa for some things they would like to see in the next calendar year of basketball before pivoting to an angrier holiday tradition: the Festivus airing of grievances. Like Frank Costanza with his loved ones, they have a lot of problems with people and trends in the hoops world and now everyone is going to hear about them.
Wine Pairing: John Croft Late Bottled Vintage Port 2015 (Portugal)

The NBA season is nearing the 25 game mark so Chris and Lyndsay decided it was time for a vibe check. They start out with a quick chat about why Beaujolais is one of the ultimate good vibes wines (it doesn't take itself too seriously) before recapping the developing dumpster fire in Philadelphia, and a deep dive on four franchises that Chris and Lyndsay felt needed more discussion. They end by creating their ultimate starting five of former NBA players who would cook in today's league.
Wine Pairing: Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages 2023 (Beaujolais, France)

Tuesday Nov 19, 2024

Chris and Lyndsay react to the WNBA Draft Lottery and Dallas getting the right to draft Paige Bueckers, and discuss James Harden passing Ray Allen on the career 3-pointer list and why celebrity wines are always an interesting endeavour. After that, they talk about why being a hater is the most satisfying way to watch sports and present a simple set of rules as a guide to being an ethical hater.
